Microblading Aftercare
You will begin the microblade aftercare steps exactly two hours after your appointment is completed.
You will repeat the same three steps every four hours for the next ten days.
It is extremely important to wash your hands before touching your new brows.
-
Step 1: Wipe Brows
Take a clean sheet of paper towel and run it under cold water so that it’s fully saturated and soft. Gently wipe each brow twice in the direction of the hair.
-
Step 2: Blot Dry
Using a fresh, dry sheet of paper towel, gently blot the brows dry.
-
Step 3: Apply Aftercare Gel
Open the aftercare gel that we have provided you with. Using your pinky, gently dab into the container of gel. This should be used sparingly. You will need only a tiny amount, about the size of your pupil. This is enough for both brows. Wipe any excess gel back into the container. Put both of your pinkies together- there should now be gel on both. Apply the gel to each brow.*
*Overuse of the gel can result in premature fading of microblading. Use only as advised.
Your healed microblading results depend heavily on your activities in the ten days following your appointment.
There are three major factors we ask that you avoid during this time.
-
UV Rays
Exposure to the sun or tanning beds can and will cause microblading to fade. During these first ten days, please restrict your time in the sun. There should be absolutely no usage of tanning booths or beds.
Once the brows are fully healed, we strongly recommend applying sunscreen to the brows any time that they’ll be exposed to the sun in order to increase longevity.
-
Exercise
Physical activity of any kind can cause the body to heat up, thus causing your pores to open. This can cause the pigment in your new brows to expand under the skin, creating a “muddy” appearance. This is not something that can be rectified by your artist. Please restrict your physical activity during this time.*
*Physical activity can include anything from working out to deep cleaning the house. If it makes you warm, avoid it.
-
Showers
Steam, heat, and humidity are all factors that will affect how your new brows heal, and how well you retain the pigment. Please restrict your use of the shower during these first ten days. You should absolutely not take baths during this time. That being said, we have plenty of recommendations to get you through these days.
Washing hair: If you live with someone at home, we recommend laying on a kitchen counter with your hair in the sink. Have your housemate assist with washing. Dry shampoo a great resource as well. If possible, schedule a visit to your salon to have your hair washed, or utilize our in-house stylist and book a wash or blowout.
Washing body: Body showers should be limited as much as possible. If you must shower, the bathroom door should be left open to release any heat or steam. Water temperature should be left as lukewarm as possible, and your hair and face must be kept out of the water. Your body shower should last only a minute before getting out.
